Content Designer Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a suitably skilled Content Designer to join their team. The duration of this post is 12 months initially with possible extensions thereafter. This role will be Flexible/Hybrid Working - The successful candidate must be able to attend meetings/workshops as required. Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €28.42 per hour based on an annualised salary of €51,718 You will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays. Purpose of the Post: As a Content Designer, you will create high-quality, user focussed content in line with best practice standards. You'll be responsible for writing in plain language and structuring and designing content to meet user needs. You will need to think about how users consume information in different contexts and on different devices. You will also optimise live content, spotting issues and opportunities for improvement. You will also work alongside relevant subject matter experts to fact check content and ensure it is always accurate but still easy to understand. You will also work with other stakeholders to understand their requirements and align these with our strategy, standards and ways of working. Your work will include a mix of planned work on content projects (for website migrations or new services) and reactive work (responding to urgent needs and smaller requests for support). Responsibilities may include, but are not restricted to: Take complex language and processes and make them simple to understand Identify user needs and understand how to meet those needs through online content Decide how to format it considering things like page hierarchy and character counts Work with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements while applying our standards and workflows Produce content in our content operations environment Publish content through our content management system Provide feedback on the work of other content designers on the team Identify opportunities to address issues and improve content through continuous iteration Consider accessibility needs and meet our requirements under the EU Web Accessibility Directive Carry out content audits Contribute to information architecture (IA) projects and decisions around how content should be grouped Optimise live content based on user feedback and testing Work with senior content designers on content plans and strategies Take a holistic view of the user journey so you can fully appreciate their context and experience Skills & Experience: Essential: Writing content for the web and in plain English that is optimised for search engines Using data and user feedback to define user needs and improve content Using a content management system Managing relationships with multiple subject matter experts and stakeholders Managing multiple tasks and prioritising to meet deadlines Contributing to a good user experience and usability of a website Desirable: Creating accessible content and files (for example, content that works well for people who use screen readers) User research and content testing Basic image editing software (for example, to resize or crop) Basic HTML *This position may be subject to Garda Vetting and Foreign Police Clearance, if applicable you will be required to obtain these prior to commencing in this role* Unijobs is an equal opportunities employer Skills: HTML Content Testing Content Designer Content Audits Content Management Image Editing Benefits: 30 days' annual leave
