Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The successful candidate will write a monograph about the Periodic Nonlinearity Noise (PNN) concept. He/she/they will elaborate the theoretical foundations of PNN, explain how it can be used to predict various families of nonlinearity-induced spurious tones in fractional-N frequency synthesizers, extend the framework to Stochastic Nonlinearity Noise (SNN), and use SNN to predict excess nonlinearity-induced noise. He/she/they will publish the results and protect related intellectual property and may be required to spend time with collaborators outside UCD. The role will involve background research, theory, modelling, simulation, experiment design, electrical measurements, critical analysis, and technical writing. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competencies, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the protection of intellectual property, the development of funding proposals, and the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research-led teaching. PD1 Salary Scale: €46,305 - €52,863 Per Annum Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
