Consultant 2, Cloud Migrations

As a Consultant 2 you will be at the forefront of delivering cloud migrations to our global clients. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology, eager to enhance their technical skills and thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Cloud Migration Execution: Provide hands on delivery of InsuranceSuite Technical Upgrade and Database Upgrade services to customers undergoing cloud migrations

Tooling Development: Contribute to the development and innovation of automation tools to streamline the upgrade process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy

Mentorship and Process Enhancement: M entor junior team members, offering guidance and support and actively drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project team

Product Mastery: Achieve proficiency in assigned Guidewire products, leading to the successful completion of required Guidewire certification as a Subject Matter expert within the desired timeframe

Technical and Functional Consultant Competencies

Creative Problem Resolution: D emonstrate the capacity to address complex and unforeseen technical challenges with creative and practical solutions

Code Analysis and Adaptation: Possess a strong aptitude for analyzing ad comprehending diverse and customised code bases even with a limited contextual information to facilitate effective and context aware modifications and enhancements

Issue Management and Escalations; Proactively identify and escalate potential project delays or critical issues to the Project Manager and / or Technical Lead

Required Skills and Experience

Professional Experience: 2-5 years of practical industry experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP), preferably Java, relational database management systems (including data modelling and SQL proficiency), web user interface design and development, and XML

Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning (ML) concepts, and Large Language Models (LLMs) is an advantage, with a willingness to engage with these technologies.

Version Control Proficiency: Expertise in managing code conflicts using tools like Git, including the ability to analyze 3 - way merge conflicts and making informed decisions to resolve them

Consulting Acumen: Demonstrated strong consulting skills, including effective problem solving, customer communication and contribution to knowledge sharing initiatives

Technical Essentials: Required experience in Java and Git

Technical Desired Experience: Experience with JSON, RESTful APIs, IntelliJ, SQL, Python and Gradle is preferred

Collaboration and Autonomy: Ability to function both as an effective team member and individual contributor

Educational Background: Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification
