Staff Level AWS Engineer/Architect – Dublin South Remote/Hybrid
Our client is a world-renowned leader in the medical devices sector and is expanding the Irish team. IT Search has been engaged to identify a Senior Staff/Principal Engineer to design and execute highly scalable and secure systems, working closely with counterparts in the USA.

This role suits a very senior engineer who is comfortable working across teams, leading delivery of architectures, and who has deep AWS and Serverless Computing expertise. The position offers a challenging opportunity and is focused on shaping key architectural work in the coming years.

Role Responsibilities

Liaise closely with international colleagues to adapt, architect and deliver Serverless solutions

Understand impact of processes across DevOps, Development, Product and Senior Management

Communicate ongoing objectives to board level, contributing to global distributed architectural strategies

Take responsibility for teams of engineers, mentoring and guiding to advance the architecture program

Requirements

10/15 years of post-graduate commercial experience, predominantly in Development/DevOps/Architecture

Significant experience leading AWS-related strategy

Serverless experience is essential, with cloud-native environments, Microservices and Lambda; NoSQL experience is a plus

Proven leadership of technical teams, setting expectations and architecture within a large organisation while remaining hands-on

Development ability is important, ideally with Python

Observability, pipeline knowledge, and IaC familiarity

Exceptional communication skills and passion for the work

This is a senior position with a competitive salary and package. Occasional liaison outside local working hours (with USA) and onsite visits to Dublin South are required, likely weekly (initially two to three days).
