About the role:
As a Tax Manager at CBTax, you'll be at the forefront of preparing government incentive claims and drafting detailed technical reports to support R&D projects. You'll coordinate and liaise with clients, colleagues, and HMRC to ensure claims are optimised and deadlines consistently met. Managing a portfolio of clients, you'll oversee project delivery to maintain smooth operations, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and provide expert advice on R&D claims. Supervising junior team members and identifying new business opportunities are key components of your role. You will also ensure a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

In this role, you'll:

- Prepare government incentive claims and draft technical reports for R&D projects.
- Coordinate with clients, colleagues, and HMRC to ensure claims are optimised and deadlines are met.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing project delivery and maintaining strong relationships.
- Respond to HMRC queries and liaise on behalf of clients regarding R&D claims.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to junior team members, helping them develop professionally.
- Keep senior stakeholders updated on project progress, ensuring clear communication within the team.

- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities, contributing to company growth.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.

We're seeking someone with experience including:

- ATT/CTA part qualification or qualified, ideally with experience in R&D.
- Strong understanding of the UK's R&D tax credits.
- Ability to handle multiple live projects concurrently while managing workload effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
- Ability to coach, delegate, and support the growth of technical expertise and soft skills within the team.
