Responsibilities:

- Spearhead the innovation in telecommunications infrastructure within railway projects, ensuring flawless integration with related systems.
- Formulate and authenticate high-level and granular telecom network plans, incorporating MPLS-TP, GSM-R, and SCADA systems, while ensuring adherence to project demands and industry benchmarks.
- Oversee the crafting of telecom design documentation, including network mappings, system architecture outlines, interface control documents, and equipment details.
- Collaborate effectively with various engineering disciplines to guarantee the best integration of tele-com systems within the broader infrastructure framework.
- Ensure telecom designs comply with all relevant regulatory, safety, and environmental standards alongside telecom regulations or protocols.
- Evaluate and sanction intricate design packages by internal teams or external contractors, ensuring precision and high-quality deliverables.
- Direct the telecom design trajectory from conceptualization to final approval and client acceptance.
- Facilitate design review conferences, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and enhance system efficacy.
- Serve as the focal point for telecom design queries, offering expert technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders alike.
- Supervise testing and validation of telecom systems post-deployment, ensuring consistency with design specifications and functional requirements.
- Lead risk evaluations concerning the telecom design process and apply mitigation measures to guarantee timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- Collaborate intimately with project managers to ensure telecom design aligns with overall project objectives, reporting progress and resolving challenges.
- Collaborate with procurement departments to specify and source telecom apparatus and supplies in accordance with design requisites.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Accumulate 8 years of experience in telecom design, ideally within railway, transportation, or infra-structure domains.
- Exhibit profound understanding of telecom network systems, including MPLS-TP, GSM-R, and SCADA architectures.
- Demonstrate a successful history of overseeing extensive telecom infrastructure design projects from inception through to detailed design phases.
- Capability to steer the entire telecom design lifecycle, encompassing requirement collection, conceptual and detailed design, and final handover.
- Proven expertise in system integration among telecom,signalling, electrification, and control systems.
- IRSE license preferred, e.g. Telecom Designer
