Group Credit Controller

An established automotive engineering group with operations in Ireland and overseas is seeking an experienced Group Credit Controller for its Westmeath site. The business is recognised for its quality, innovation, and strong customer relationships, supplying leading names in the automotive industry. The Role Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the credit control function across all group companies. This position involves managing debtor accounts, ensuring timely collections, assessing credit risk, and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Key Duties Manage debtor ledgers for multiple sites and currencies Monitor customer accounts to ensure adherence to payment terms Proactively follow up on overdue accounts by phone, email, and written correspondence Resolve payment queries by liaising with sales, operations, and customer service teams Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers Prepare aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts for senior management Manage legal recovery processes when required Recommend and implement improvements to credit control procedures Support month-end processes relating to debtors and bad debt provisions Candidate Requirements Proven experience in credit control, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency accounts Strong communication and negotiation skills Good understanding of credit risk and debt recovery processes Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Highly organised with strong attention to detail A relevant qualification (CICM/ICM) is desirable but not essential Package Competitive salary Pension Training and development opportunities Opportunity to join a growing, internationally focused engineering group Skills: Credit Control Benefits: Work From Home Work From Home
