Accountant Our client a leading organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Cork-based team. This position plays a pivotal role within the finance function, acting as a key business partner to the leasing and sales teams while ensuring strong financial governance, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency. Salary: €60,000 – €65,000 per annum plus benefits Key Responsibilities: Act as the main point of contact for all finance-related queries within the leasing division. Liaise with banks and funding partners for the setup, drawdown, and settlement of funding arrangements based on stock requirements. Prepare monthly management accounts to Trial Balance, including reconciliations and variance analysis against budget. Support the preparation of year-end accounts, liaising with auditors and managing related queries. Oversee cash flow reporting, debtor and creditor listings, and regular review of vehicle stock and fixed asset registers. Provide financial insights and analysis to support business planning, forecasting, and performance improvement. Maintain and enhance financial controls, documentation, and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance. Prepare and submit PAYE, VAT, and CSO returns in line with regulatory deadlines. Contribute to continuous improvement projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required. Key Requirements: Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA) with at least 3 years’ experience in general accounting or financial management. Strong technical accounting skills with advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint. Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to work to tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
