Role Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the national sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and managing the sales teams within the Irish market. This role plays a key part in expanding market presence, developing customers relationships, and aligning sales activities with the overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

· Develop and implement the national sales strategy in line with the company’s growth objectives.

· Set and monitor sales targets for the sales teams and individuals, ensuring achievement of revenue goals.

· Identify new market opportunities and define sales plans to expand the customer base.

Team Management & Development

· Lead, mentor, and manage a team of internal and external sales representatives.

· Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, performance reviews, and training programs.

· Drive collaboration between sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Account Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders.

· Negotiate commercial agreements and resolve high-level customer issues.

· Oversee pricing strategies, contract renewals, and large project quotations.

Operational & Financial Responsibility

· Manage the national sales budget and contribute to the broader financial planning.

· Support credit control by aligning with finance to manage account risks and terms.

· Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.

Market & Business Intelligence

· Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.

· Provide regular analysis and reporting on sales performance and pipeline forecasts.

· Contribute to product strategy and customer proposition refinement based on market feedback.

· Attend training sessions, trade shows, and industry networking events as required.

Person Specification

Essential

· Minimum 8 years’ experience in B2b sales with at least 3 years in a senior sales leadership role.

· Strong knowledge of the construction or building materials sector.

· Demonstrated experience leading successful sales teams and delivering against growth targets.

· Full, clean driving license.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent commercial acumen and robust negotiation skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

· Competitive self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

· Confident, resilient and adaptable.
