Summary: Our client, a pharmaceutical company in Co. Tipperary, is seeking a Senior Automation & Digital Systems Lead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting the technical team responsible for the delivery of the Digital systems, mainly ABB DCS, PLC systems, MES, PI, I&C, ICT and CSV areas. The successful candidate will ensure the effective deployment, maintenance, integration, and optimisation of digital technologies and platforms to support business operations and strategic objectives Responsibilities: Act as the central point of contact for all digital systems-related technical activities, coordinating between different workstreams under the clients Digital Capital Project Umbrella. Plan, coordinate, and oversee the deployment and integration of digital systems, including software applications, control systems, and data platforms. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for digital systems issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Manage routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades of digital systems to ensure security, compliance, and functionality. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and user manuals. Deliver training sessions and support materials to end-users and technical staff to maximise system utilisation and efficiency. Ensure digital systems comply with organisational policies, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices. Liaise with software vendors, service providers, and contractors to coordinate support, licensing, and service agreements. Identify opportunities to enhance digital systems capabilities, streamline processes, and reduce costs. Ensure Automation compliance with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience working on ABB DCS, PLC systems, DeltaV, MES, PI, I&C, ICT, etc, preferably in API Manufacturing. Working knowledge of Project Planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS planner online. Relevant Project Manager or Project Engineer experience. Proficiency with relevant digital tools and platforms specific to the industry (e.g., SCADA, MES, ERP, cloud services). Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, cybersecurity certifications) are a plus.
