About the Role Our client, a leading insurer, is seeking a Head of Technical Claims to join their Claims Leadership Team. This is a senior strategic position responsible for overseeing the technical claims function across Motor, Home, Commercial Property, Complex Property, and Personal Injury lines. The successful candidate will drive excellence, compliance, and cost efficiency, while shaping the ongoing evolution of claims strategy, culture, and performance. This is a key leadership role with significant influence across business operations and future growth. Key Responsibilities - Develop and deliver a unified technical claims strategy across all major product lines. - Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Technical Claims team across multiple markets. - Oversee settlement strategy, reserving accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Drive innovation and digital transformation through technology adoption and data-led decision-making. - Embed modern tools, analytics, and best practices to enhance efficiency and customer outcomes. - Work closely with underwriting, operations, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliance and optimise performance. - Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and operational excellence. - Monitor and manage claims reserves to maintain financial integrity and control. Experience and Qualifications - 10+ years' experience in insurance claims management, with deep expertise across Motor, Home, Commercial Property, and Personal Injury. - Strong understanding of Irish insurance legislation, regulation, and compliance standards. - Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams and deliver complex strategic initiatives. - Experience in claims transformation, process optimisation, and data-driven improvement. - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability, with commercial awareness and sound judgment. - Relevant insurance qualifications and degree-level education or equivalent professional experience. - Customer-focused, results-driven, and pragmatic leadership style.
