Regional Development Executive - FDI

Location: Waterford

With a focus on regional development, our client is seeking support in delivering investment to the regions. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of regional targets for the Southeast Region and to manage a portfolio of Regional Enterprise Development Clients. The ideal candidate will contribute proactively to advance strategic interests in the Regions through marketing the Southeast, in partnership with colleagues, as a location for new FDI. In addition to marketing, the role requires an experienced individual to collaborate with regional stakeholders to support the winning of investments and work with the existing client base to secure investment opportunities.

The region operationally comprises of Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, and Kilkenny. There are 86 client companies in the Southeast Region, employing 15,301 people. The Southeast has a significant ecosystem of well-established companies across Technology, Life Sciences, International Financial Services, and Engineering & Industrial Technologies. Our client targeted 40 investments for the Southeast Region in the period 2021-2024.

Key Tasks:

1. Manage a portfolio of Regional Enterprise Development Clients to support their transformation and continued presence in the regions.
2. Prepare marketing value propositions, content, and itineraries to maximize the investment opportunities for the Region.
3. Support the Regional Manager in enhancing the region's business ecosystem through networking and relationship building across regional and national stakeholders.
4. Draft, coordinate, manage, and accompany visiting itineraries and e-site visits to the business locations within the region.
5. Support the Regional Manager on the delivery of appropriate and timely solutions to challenges faced by existing and potential clients in the Region.
6. Provide close and effective startup assistance and support for new client companies establishing in the region.
7. Represent our client at a range of meetings and functions and, as required, proactively speak on behalf of our client outlining our role, strategy importance, and economic impact of our client nationally and regionally.
8. Collaborate with internal divisions as part of the marketing proposition for the Region.
9. Ensure that the brand is held in high regard in the Region.
10. Embrace and utilize all available technologies.
11. Ability to work well under pressure, show initiative, and work independently. Flexibility and interest in career progression.

Additional Requirements:

1. Ability to work well under pressure, flexibly as a member of a team and independently on own initiative in terms of time worked and tasks undertaken.
2. A relevant Level 8 third level business/sector related degree recognized on the National Qualification Framework is essential.
3. Strong computer literacy skills.
4. Digital marketing and social media skills.
5. This role will require domestic travel, flexible working hours, and a willingness to work flexibly across regions on a regular basis.
6. A full driving license is essential.
