Projects typically fall into three categories: new installations, upgrades, and add-ons. We also support custom requests to meet unique client requirements.

This is your opportunity to lead transformative and large-scale healthcare IT initiatives that directly improve patient care and operational efficiency.

This role operates in a hybrid working model, with your time split between our offices, client sites and working from a home office.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours in Dublin and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Lead radiology system implementations and professional services projects from start to finish

- Deliver technical, infrastructure, and professional services projects, which could include Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), cardiology, workflow, business intelligence, and infrastructure upgrades

- Scope, plan, and manage delivery to meet timelines, quality standards, and budgets

- Manage internal and external stakeholders across public sector healthcare

- Create and maintain essential project documentation (scope, plans, budgets, milestones)

- Apply change management to ensure budget control and revenue optimization

- Forecast project timelines and revenue profiles

- Establish governance and produce clear delivery reporting

- Proactively manage risks and issues

- Support Sales with tenders and related activities

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

- Degree in IT, Healthcare, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience

- Proven end-to-end delivery experience of clinical systems projects

- Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills, with accountability for scope, budget, and timelines

- Experience managing projects within healthcare technology environments

- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM or equivalent)

- Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with imaging systems (PACS, RIS, or enterprise imaging solutions)

- Vendor-side or healthcare consulting experience with public sector clients

- Agile delivery experience

- Familiarity with SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, and/or Smartsheets

Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application. Proof will be required to support your application.

At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. We believe everyone-of every race, gender, sexuality, age, location and income-deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life. Today, however, there are still far too many barriers to good health which are disproportionately experienced by people of color, historically marginalized groups and those with lower incomes. We are committed to mitigating our impact on the environment and enabling and delivering equitable care that addresses health disparities and improves health outcomes - an enterprise priority reflected in our mission.

Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: Optum is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, race, and membership of the Traveller community, or any other characteristic protected by law.
