About the role The Financial Accountant will be a key member of the TFI finance team, based at our Office in Cavan SA. This position supports the Financial Manager in relation to TFI’s financial accounting requirements.
The role will provide support for all aspects of statutory accounting, including month end financial reporting, consolidated statutory reporting, financial control, and process improvement.
Key responsibilities will include:
Responsible for monthly financial accounting tasks and processes, including general ledger and sub-ledger maintenance, complex accrual calculations, and reconciliations.
Work with AR and AP teams to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner according to internal reporting timelines.
Provide timely and accurate weekly and monthly financial statements for inclusion in Board reports.
Maintain fixed asset registers, including monthly reconciliation of the FAR to the General Ledger.
Conduct financial analysis to identify variances and the key drivers for those variances.
Review expenditure to ensure correct classification of transactions and accurate monthly accruals.
Manage the end-of-year audit process, ensuring compliance with external auditors' requirements and timely provision of financial documentation.
Liaise with the corporate tax division to provide information required for annual income tax, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
Work closely with the Business performance Manager to provide financial information for management reporting purposes.
Handle insurance matters, coordinate with site managers for on time claim processing.
About you
You will also have:
CA/CPA qualified or working towards
Strong technical accounting knowledge (Australian Accounting Standards)
Proven experience working in a large, complex accounting environment
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics or similar
Advanced Excel skills including strong working knowledge of Excel functions used in complex financial models containing large amounts of data
