Purpose of the Role The purpose of this role is to provide high quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention as part of an interdisciplinary team for children and young people who experience complex pain, and their families. This is a national outpatient service which works with children and families using a biopsychosocial approach. Intervention is delivered in group and individualised settings in an interdisciplinary format with the Occupational Therapist being an integral part of the team. This post is based in CHI at Crumlin but the Complex Pain Team operates services from other CHI sites so travel between sites (CHI at Tallaght, Temple Street and Connolly) is necessary for the fulfilment of this role. This is an evolving team and service with research and service development heavily embedded in the team's ethos. Hence this brings wonderful opportunities for development of the Occupational Therapy role in the evolution of service provision. Essential Criteria: Be registered as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU with the registration number listed on the CV. Have at least 3 years' full time (or an aggregate of 3 years' full time) post qualification experience. Clinical experience with adults or children relevant to the role e.g. mental health setting, working with people with chronic conditions, using a biopsychosocial approach. Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of communication and professional skills) for the proper discharge of the duties of the position.
