Ireland & Northern Europe Policy & Partnerships Lead OpenAI is seeking an Ireland & Northern Europe Policy & Partnerships Lead to develop strategies and lead public policy engagement in Ireland and the Nordic countries as part of our European team. You will drive campaigns on policy issues, and build and manage relationships with key international partners, including civil society groups, researchers and experts, to advance policies and partnerships aligned with OpenAI’s mission.

Possess excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and policy concepts to diverse audiences.
Show strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
Have knowledge of the European Union policy‑making system, institutions, and processes, and key AI policy issues and debates.
Have a track record of effectively working with cross‑functional teams, especially engineering and research teams.
Demonstrate genuine care about the impact of technology on society.
Previous work on AI issues and technical AI development expertise is a plus.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in at least one additional language relevant to the region is a plus.
Role Details
The role reports to the Head of European Policy & Partnerships and works closely with internal and external partners.
Location options include Dublin, London, Brussels, Paris or other European capitals with frequent travel across the region. In Dublin, London, Paris and Brussels, the role follows a hybrid model with three days in the office per week. In other EU capitals, the role is fully remote. Relocation assistance is offered.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Develop strategies and lead OpenAI’s public policy engagement in Ireland and the Nordic region.
Drive campaigns on specific policy issues and manage relationships with international partners and stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to shape strategic initiatives and policy documents; prepare leaders for engagements with government officials; represent OpenAI in private and public forums.
