Overview Role: Operations & Maintenance Technician
Location: Courtmacsherry Water Treatment Plant, Co. Cork
Location Base: Courtmacsherry Water Treatment Plant, Co. Cork
Salary: Competitive salary with Company vehicle and fuel card
Duration: Fixed Term contract for 16 months
Responsibilities Take ownership and responsibility for allocated water and wastewater treatment plant facilities, ensuring standards of quality and cleanliness are upheld.
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and other periodic operation and maintenance checks to ensure the quality and quantity of treated water produced or final effluent treated is within specification.
Complete grounds maintenance activities including grass cutting, cleaning and facilities maintenance.
Work on a rota system with on-call cover; share out-of-hours and public holiday duties with the contract site team; changes to the published rota require advance notice to the O&M Project Manager.
Utilise email/apps as essential business tools for day-to-day O&M activities; maintain professional communication.
Support the O&M project manager and engineer in the daily operation and maintenance of live projects and pursue progression and development in your career.
Visit each site regularly and complete site visit reports on the Site Reporting App; welcome visitors and provide inductions and record visits on the Site Reporting App.
Perform a site walkthrough, visually inspect all plant areas, and record tasks in the Site Reporting App for each applicable plant.
Respond to critical alarms to ensure water and wastewater outputs are within required standards.
Conduct and record process adjustments to maintain outputs to required standards.
Carry out a weekly HSQE walkthrough and submit the Weekly HSQE Checklist for Operations.
Assist with CRF (Capital Replacement Fund) projects where applicable.
Demonstrate eagerness to learn and progress, including mentoring and training of junior staff.
Other duties as required; working hours are Monday to Sunday with weekly rosters that vary.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Experience in Water/Waste Water Plant operations is desirable.
Interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute in project delivery and team meetings.
Ability to engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement and delivery stages.
Ability to use initiative, problem-solve, and adapt to issues during O&M activities.
Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills and high motivation.
Full driving licence.
