Payroll Manager - UPMC Ireland Location: Ireland Job type: Fixed Term Overview of role: UPMC are currently recruiting for the role of Payroll Manager to join their Finance team. Location is open to Dublin, Kilkenny or Waterford. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: To manage and oversee the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, compliance with relevant legislation, and effective coordination with HR and Finance departments. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management: Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees. Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, benefits, deductions, and taxes. Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity. Time & Attendance Management: Oversee operation and maintenance of T&A system. Provide support to managers & employees on T&A system. Ensure T&A practices comply with employment legislation and company policies. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with local tax laws, employment regulations, and company policies. Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g., PAYE, PRSI, USC). Support audits and provide payroll-related documentation as required. System & Process Improvement: Manage payroll systems and software. Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure alignment of payroll with organizational goals. Team Leadership: Supervise payroll staff and provide training and development. Delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure timely delivery. Employee Support: Address payroll-related queries from employees. Ensure correct application of leave entitlements and benefits. Support on-boarding and off-boarding processes from a payroll perspective. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. 3-5+ years of experience in payroll, with supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and systems. Key Skills: High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
