Compliance Manager and Data Protection Officer Role at Ramp Network

We're looking for a highly skilled Compliance Manager and Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join our Dublin office team. This second-line defence role will assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring AML and data protection compliance programmes for Ramp Ireland (Swaps) Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Compliance (Ireland) in implementing and managing relevant compliance programmes, including AML/CFT/Sanctions, EU Travel Rule, and regulatory change programmes.
  • Coordinate timely investigations of suspicious activity and necessary reporting (STRs) filed with an Garda Síochána and the Revenue Commissioners.
  • Provide timely responses to Law Enforcement agencies' requests.
  • Conduct annual risk assessments of Ramp Ireland's ML/CFT risk.
  • Review and update AML policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and financial crime prevention.
  • Deliver training on compliance-related topics, such as AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and EU Travel Rule.
  • Monitor second-line defence controls for Ramp Ireland's AML/CFT/Sanctions.
  • Provide management information on AML for senior leadership and the Board of Directors, ensuring awareness of AML and CTF compliance programme status.
  • Act as Compliance SME to the business, working closely with stakeholders in Commercial, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Compliance Operations, Support, and Product teams to drive financial crime and data protection compliance.
Data Protection Focus:
  • Monitor organisational compliance with EU data privacy requirements and other data protection legislation, maintaining internal data protection policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Inform and advise employees on their data protection obligations under GDPR and foster a data protection culture.
  • Lead Privacy Risk Assessments, manage data subject access requests, and respond to data breaches.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external queries and issues.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in second-line AML compliance and data protection.
  • Significant compliance experience in a similar role at a regulated financial institution or crypto asset firm, or in a consultancy or regulator with a focus on AML/STR reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or related field.
  • Certifications in Compliance (e.g., ACOI LCI, CFPC, CFRCP, or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Certifications in Data Protection (e.g., CDPO or IAPP CIPP/E) or working towards beneficial.
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish AML regulatory requirements for registered virtual asset service providers.
  • Good understanding of national and European data protection laws and practices, including GDPR.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with various cross-functional global stakeholders.
  • Highest level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle information discreetly when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with senior management, with attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and ability to act independently.
  • Fluent in English; additional language abilities are a plus, given our global operations.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and curiosity about fintech and crypto.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
