Summary: Our client is a pharmaceutical company based in East Cork looking for a Senior Project Engineer who will Act as a lead Project Engineer for the sites Capital Projects department and its associated projects. Two such projects will include a Powder Transfer System & an upgrade to an existing HCl dosing system. Responsibilities: Engage contractors in line with the Capital Projects Sourcing, Project Controls and Contract Administration requirements. Engage with and manage design consultants to ensuring they deliver and meet the Company's requirements. Responsible to review and approve when applicable, all design documentation produced by design consultants in accordance with agreed scopes of work and key project milestones. Support Capital Projects to deliver projects on time and in accordance with agreed key milestones for a project or portfolio of projects for the site. Communicate the status of the project to all relevant stakeholders and shall provide updates on the Project to Key Stakeholders. Ensure that each completed project meets local codes, regulations, and quality standards. Ensure compliance with agreed construction methods particularly those relating to Quality Assurance and Environment, Health & Safety, Responsible for the coordination of work packages, specifically ensuring the smooth transition from design to construction to handover to operations in a live operational environment. Responsible for the inspection of on-site construction works relating to projects, to ensure compliance with design requirements and building and planning regulations. Ensure contractors who will be onsite will be compliant with regulations and site safety requirements, documentation, and responsible for contractor works while onsite. This consists of but not limited to ensuring AF1 & AF2 forms submitted, PSDS & PSCS allocated, RAMS submitted and reviewed, and work carried out is permits are signed and supervised, along with overall oversight of construction tasks applicable to project engineer owned projects. Assess any potential safety hazards on site whilst continually focusing on ways and methods to eliminate and /or mitigate risk throughout the lifecycle of a project. Qualifications & Experience: Engineering qualification, with a minimum of 10 years previous Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices experience leading and implementing Capital Projects in a live operational environment. Registration with a professional body such as the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (IEI). Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project etc. Experience in developing project schedules with respect to design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, qualification and handover. A decision maker and effective communicator able to communicate and use VPN, video conferencing and mobile platforms. Experience in managing a range of suppliers e.g., design, construction, equipment and professional services. Experience in managing change with respect to projects and the agreed scope changes procedures. Experience with the latest construction materials and methodologies suitable for Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices project. Experience dealing with Factory Mutual. Technical understanding of all aspects of design and construction from ground works, through to shell and core, through to commissioning and handover. Good understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and issues. Knowledge of the current Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. Knowledge of the Planning Application, Building Control and Fire Certifications process, regulations and requirements. Knowledge of Powder Transfer Systems. Knowledge of HCl systems Knowledge of ATEX regulations and implementation of same Experience with design software, like AutoCAD, Revit etc. Design and Construction Management experience. Working knowledge of compliance, zoning, and building legislation. Demonstrated ability to interpret tender documents, specifications and drawings. Knowledge of value engineering principles and experience in implementing cost-saving measures.
