Purpose of the Role The post holder has a pivotal role in co-ordination and management of activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are staffing and staff development resource management, facilitating communication and professional/clinical and ethical leadership. Support the philosophy and the mission statement of the hospital. With the CNM 3 and Divisional Nurse Manager handle all grievance /disciplinary matters which are brought to your attention. Ensure confidentiality on all matters and information obtained during the course employment. The post holder is accountable, responsible and has authority. Essential Criteria: Be registered in the Childrens or General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality of acute paediatric cardiology. Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development. Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
