Job Title: Senior Health & Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and oversee all project safety advisors under your supervision.
- Champion a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing the company's HSE policies and procedures across the project.
- Conduct routine site inspections, reporting findings and ensuring timely resolution of any issues identified.
- Ensure the project team is equipped with all necessary HSE documentation.
- Verify that project-specific HSE plans align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate regular discussions on HSE matters during project review meetings.
- Maintain accurate records in line with internal policies and external audit standards.
- Support site management and subcontractors with risk assessments, evaluations, and documentation reviews when needed.
- Deliver HSE training sessions as agreed with the Project Manager.
- Propose and promote safety initiatives and forward recommendations to the Project and HSE & Sustainability Managers.
- Assist in incident investigations and ensure timely and effective closure of incident reports and inspection findings.
- Act as liaison with regulatory bodies such as the HSA and EPA when required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE practices and report them accordingly.
- Represent the company at relevant HSE meetings and forums.
- Support managers with environmental and safety submissions, assessments, and vendor evaluations.
- Consistently uphold and promote the company's HSE ethos and values.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Degree-level (Level 8) qualification in Health & Safety or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience in project HSE management.
- Proven track record as a Chartered Project Safety Advisor.
- In-depth knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards.
- Chartered Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and manage major accident investigations.
