General Operative – Industrial Cleaner

An established waste and recycling facility based at Belview Port is seeking a reliable and physically fit General Operative – Industrial Cleaner to support ongoing site maintenance and cleanliness. This is a key role in ensuring the facility remains safe and operational, particularly in high-traffic and outdoor areas.

Please Note: This is a physically demanding role in a harsh and often dirty environment. The site includes moving vehicles, heavy machinery, and outdoor exposure in all weather. Candidates must be comfortable with this type of work.

Location: Belview Port Facility, Waterford
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Approx. 12 hours/week (3 days x 4 hours/day – flexible)

Key Duties:

General cleaning and housekeeping across external areas of the facility
Removal of litter, debris, and waste from walkways and yard spaces
Emptying and monitoring bins/skips as required
Keeping outdoor work zones tidy and accessible
Adhering to all on-site health and safety procedures, especially around vehicle movement
Internal cleaning tasks may be assigned following performance review

Requirements:

Strong level of physical fitness
Conversational English (for safety communication in a high-risk environment)
Ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Previous experience in a similar or industrial environment is an advantage
Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Role Conditions:

Approx. 12 hours/week, ideally over 3 half-days (flexibility offered)
Work is primarily outdoors in a physically demanding environment
Site includes high-risk areas with moving plant and heavy equipment
