Camphill Community is seeking a highly motivated person to join our team as a Day Service - Programme Assistant at The Journeyman Programme in Carrick-on-Suir.
The job purpose is to support the service in developing and fostering a person-centered culture, aiming to achieve high-quality personal outcomes, personal development, growth, and opportunity within the ethos of CCoI and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Management: Understand and uphold the values and ethos of Camphill Communities of Ireland, and promote the safety and wellbeing of all community members.
Contribute to establishing policies, systems, and practices that provide the best standard of care and support, and comply with legislation and best practices.
Build and maintain relationships of trust and confidence with adults with support needs, coworkers, employees, and volunteers.
Engage in personal and professional development to meet the changing needs of the position.
Main Tasks Assist in planning the work of people with support needs, providing guidance, motivation, development, and direction.
Create a good working environment and group dynamic that enables each worker to benefit from their time in the programme.
Ensure people with support needs are constructively engaged, emotionally supported, and sufficiently challenged, and work independently as possible.
Assist people with support needs in their work, oversee tasks, and participate in reviews and support meetings.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community/Healthcare on the QQI Framework (with 8 completed modules)
At least 1 year's experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities/autism
Experience running programmes for adults with intellectual disabilities/autism
Understanding of the New Directions model of day support services and willingness to work in promoting this model
Ability to contribute to supporting, coaching, managing, and motivating a mixed workforce of volunteers and employees
Full driver's license required

Details of the role: Salary Scale €30,272 to €36,026 per annum (based on a 40-hour week), pro-rata, Location: The Journeyman Programme, Ballinagranna, Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary, Contract: Permanent - 35 hours per week.
