Job Description

- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

- Reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.

- Support audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor queries.

- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax-related documents as required.

- Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate reporting and process improvements.

- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities as part of the accounting team.

The Successful Applicant

A successful GL Accountant should have:

- A recognised qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.

- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the FMCG industry.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate financial records.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Prior experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.
