Senior Chemical Engineer – Limerick

Location: Limerick (Onsite)

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–3:30pm

Salary: €65,000 + benefits

Type: Permanent, full-time

Reports to: Production Manager

The Opportunity

As a Senior Chemical Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimising production performance. You’ll monitor process chemistry, support plant operations, and implement improvements that enhance both product quality and process efficiency.

This position is ideal for a technically minded and ambitious engineer seeking long-term progression into Production Management.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day technical support to production and maintenance teams.
- Monitor and optimise chemical and process parameters to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Analyse process performance, including heat transfer, mass balance, and system efficiency.
- Support kiln operations, quality control, and troubleshooting activities.
- Lead or contribute to process improvement, optimisation, and commissioning projects.
- Manage contractors during specific projects and plant shutdowns.
- Uphold and promote high standards in health, safety, and environmental performance.

What You’ll Bring

- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–4+ years of relevant industrial experience — ideally within cement, minerals, process, or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
- Proven project management capability.
- Drive and ambition to develop into a future leadership role.
