[High Salary] React Native Android Engineer

THE ROLE & THE TEAM
Product ratings and reviews provide Zalando’s customers access to authentic, detailed, and diverse feedback on products and empower them to make confident purchase decisions. Zalando is investing in ratings and review experiences and is forming a dedicated team to elevate the experience to best in class while delivering business impact. As part of this team, we are seeking a skilled React Native Android Engineer to shape customer-facing capabilities for over 50 million users to gain insights from more than 100 million ratings and reviews. This role requires solid expertise in Android app development and React Native, and proven experience collaborating with backend teams to build scalable, data-driven solutions. Familiarity with modern integration patterns (RESTful APIs and GraphQL) is a strong advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate complex requirements into clear, actionable technical designs.

Take ownership, reduce ambiguity, and break down complex projects into manageable tasks for team collaboration.

Lead the design, development, deployment and maintenance of the team’s apps integrations, delivering exceptional user experiences across Android and React Native.

Deliver high-quality, testable software solutions adaptable to evolving product requirements.

Design, construct, and maintain scalable software solutions adaptable to changing product needs.

Share expertise, mentor, and contribute to a culture of excellence through reviews and collaboration.

Embrace agile practices, iteratively testing features with stakeholders while aligning with project goals.

Prioritize team processes, automation, communication, and collaboration to boost velocity and impact.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Strong engineering experience with modern Android development; experience with React Native is a distinct advantage.

Experience with the React Native ecosystem, including Redux for state management and React Navigation.

Comfort working with a diverse tech stack and readiness to learn new languages and systems.

Robust stakeholder management and ability to collaborate with engineering peers, applied scientists, and product owners.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile app development and reliable releases.

Experience implementing monitoring and observability to ensure mobile health, performance, and stability.

Commitment to clean, well-tested, maintainable code; ownership of code quality.

Proven track record in high-performing teams, with ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions while fostering collaboration.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Collaborative mindset across stakeholders and domains, including ML Engineers and other software teams.
