Overview
As an Automation Engineer at Expleo, you will design, develop, and implement advanced automation solutions to enhance our clients' manufacturing processes. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and program PLC-based control systems, with a preference for Allen Bradley platforms, to optimize manufacturing operations.
- Develop and validate HMI applications using FactoryTalk View to improve process monitoring, control, and user interface efficiency.
- Integrate vision systems, such as Cognex, for automated quality inspection to enhance product quality and streamline communication with control systems.
- Implement and manage data historians like OSI PI for real-time data collection and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Troubleshoot and maintain automation systems to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and validation teams to ensure compliance with GAMP 5 guidelines and cGMP regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, product quality, and operational safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

Desired Skills
- Experience in the medical, packaging, or technological industries with a good understanding of regulatory requirements and exposure to serialization.
- Knowledge of EU-GMP standards.
- Certification in a project management discipline, such as PMP.
- Lean Sigma certification.
Experience
- Must have Rockwell experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in PLC automation/control, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
- Solid experience with automation system instrumentation and field device technology.
- Proficiency with real-time data historians such as OSI PI and vision systems like Cognex in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial network architectures, including Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, and Profibus, with the ability to troubleshoot network issues.
- Excellent knowledge of machine control systems and integrated manufacturing control systems, including MES and batch manufacturing.
- Familiarity with GAMP 5 guidelines and cGMP regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
