Preferred qualifications: MBA, JD, or Master's degree in Public Policy or a related field. Experience structuring and executing public-private partnerships (PPPs) for large-scale infrastructure projects. Understanding of the global data center value chain. Ability to propose creative solutions commercially and technically. Ability to work in ambiguous, collaborative, and fast-moving environments. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among executives and government officials. About the job Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business. In this role, you will architect the strategic industry coalitions and public sector partnerships that enable the future of Google's global data center infrastructure. By uniting key industry players, public sector stakeholders, and critical upstream and downstream partners, you will directly unlock capacity, accelerate market entry, and shape favorable development environments. You will be forging industry relationships to advance Google's interests and influence the entire digital infrastructure landscape. Google Cloud accelerates every organization's ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google's cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems. Responsibilities Design and execute a global strategy for building industry coalitions and public-private partnerships to support data center development and operations. Forge and manage relationships with C-level executives across the data center value chain, and other key industry players to drive collective action. Structure and negotiate partnerships with governments to advance data center, water, and sustainability initiatives, pioneering new models for public-private development. Collaborate with internal teams, including Government and Public Policy, Partnerships, Energy, Legal, and Engineering, to ensure partnership strategies align with Google's broader infrastructure goals. Serve as a thought leader, representing Google in industry forums and multi-stakeholder negotiations to mobilize the broader sector and shape a sustainable future for digital infrastructure.
