Health and Safety Officer – Ayrton Group
Ayrton Group is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our client, a leader in data centre solutions, at their facility in Dublin 12.
The HSO plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and fostering a strong safety culture across all operations. They will support continuous improvement in safety performance and help protect employees, contractors, and the public from workplace hazards.
This is a contract role of 6 months with the potential for extension, commencing in late October/early November.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting regular, formal site audits and carrying out inspections as directed in the Safety Management System.
Ensuring that a record of statutory inspections is kept for all activities and plant equipment.
Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.).
Drafting and communicating Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation.
Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
Performing incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
Reviewing subcontractor Safety Statements and Safety Compliance.
Reviewing Safe Work Plans for the tasks on site.
Managing Health & Safety paperwork on-site.
Managing and recommending PPE for on-site employees.
Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new on-site employees and contractors.
Attending whiteboard meetings, client meetings, and site walks.
Delivering Toolbox Talks as required.
Key Experience
Recognised qualification in Health and Safety, or similar, is required.
Minimum 1 year’s experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or facilities management.
Knowledge of ISO 45001 and other relevant safety standards.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
