Orange Recruitment are seeking a proactive and experienced Infrastructure Health and Safety Officer to support the planning, implementation, and oversight of health and safety practices across infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance, promoting a culture of safety, and minimising risk across all project phases, from pre-construction to handover. Responsibilities: Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety legislation, industry best practices, and internal procedures across all infrastructure project sites. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with site managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to promote safe systems of work. Assist in the development, review, and implementation of project-specific Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments (RAMS). Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; produce detailed reports and implement lessons learned. Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for site staff and contractors. Maintain accurate health and safety records including inspection logs, incident reports, and training registers. Support the roll-out of safety campaigns, initiatives, and continuous improvement programs. Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., HSA in Ireland) to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Assist in the preparation of monthly HSEQ performance reports for senior management. Requirements: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety (or equivalent recognised qualification). Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar health and safety role within infrastructure, construction, civil engineering, or utilities. Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and construction regulations. Experience conducting site audits, investigations, and risk assessments. Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and health & safety reporting systems. Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites. Desirable: IOSH membership (Tech IOSH or above). Manual Handling, Working at Height, or First Aid certification. Knowledge of ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management Systems. Experience with infrastructure projects such as roadworks, bridges, water networks, rail, or large-scale utilities.
