Post Summary: The rapidly changing environment of higher education presents major challenges for managers in educational institutions predominantly in the area of finance. Public funds now form a reducing proportion of an institutions income, and these institutions are seeking to increase their funding from other sources. These developments entail an innovative and commercial approach to the task of financial and risk management, and call for the best possible support for the Senior Officers of the University and its budget holders, particularly in terms of providing well informed financial advice and full and timely management information. Context: The Corporate Services Division (CSD) supports Trinity's mission to provide a liberal environment where independence of thought is highly valued and where all are encouraged to achieve their full potential. The role of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is to provide strategic leadership, management, and organisation of the universitys professional and support functions. The key focus is on delivering a professional, agile and customer-centric division enabling Trinity to achieve its mission and vision in a cost-effective manner. The Corporate Services Division consist of six departments, Estates and Facilities, IT Services, Human Resource, Programme Management Office, Student Services as well as the Commercial Revenue Unit (which has its own dedicated finance team). The CSD Project and Risk Accountant is responsible for delivering high-quality project and risk financial expertise to support the Corporate Services Division (CSD). This role will support stakeholders in all strategic and operational project and risk financial planning activities. This role reports to the CSD Operations Manager. Post status: 3 Year, Fixed-Term Contract Hours of Post: 35 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€66,838 to €83,810 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. Applicants should clearly address their experience and how they obtained their knowledge in their application. Illustrate, through past example, their ability to work on their own initiative and resolve problems. Applicants who do not address the application requirements above in their cover letter will not be considered at the short list stage. Applications must be submitted by the closing date specified through eRecruitment. Any Applications which are still in progress at the closing time on the specified closing date will be cancelled automatically by the system. Please see the Job Description for this position.
