Director of Pharmacovigilance Job Overview

This role is available for a remote position in Ireland or the UK. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team and managing various tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Role: Provide guidance, direction, and leadership to drive growth and profitability.
  • Pharmacovigilance Requirements: Ensure all requirements are met, maintaining an effective Pharmacovigilance system.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as an internal and external subject matter expert in Pharmacovigilance.
  • Team Performance: Present team information at senior leadership meetings and contribute to company strategy.
  • High-Performing Team: Build and maintain a high-performing team, delegating responsibilities and fostering motivation.
  • PDP Goals: Draft functional PDP goals and monitor agreed objectives.
  • Resource Management: Direct and control team work and resources, ensuring recruitment and retention of well-motivated staff.
  • Culture Development: Coach staff for delivery and improvement, nurturing a supportive culture.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate and enforce company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Negotiation: Foster teamwork and collaboration within all companies and subsidiaries.
  • Representation: Represent the company in negotiations and public relations.
  • Business Strategies: Support business development strategies for the function.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Proven industry experience.
  • Life Sciences Degree: Relevant degree in life sciences or healthcare.
  • Management Skills: Strong people management skills, including organisational agility.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication and leadership abilities.
  • Financial Understanding: Understanding of finance and budget management.
  • Desirable Qualification: Desirable: Eligibility to be named as a Qualified Person Pharmacovigilance.
  • Ongoing Training: Commitment to ongoing training in leadership, strategy, and functional areas.
