Optimize Food Procurement Strategies

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Food Buyer to drive category performance, build strong supplier relationships, and identify opportunities to increase additional income streams.

This role will be responsible for managing food category performance, focusing on sales, margins, budget, and inventory. You will also source and develop innovative products, manage them from concept to market launch, and stay informed on market trends to ensure competitiveness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth through effective category management, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and managing partnerships to optimize product offerings and pricing strategies.
  • Source and develop new products, managing them from concept to market launch to stay ahead of competition.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market research to inform procurement decisions and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Plan and manage core and seasonal product ranges to optimize assortment and stock levels.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to ensure profitability and report on sales performance to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure full product availability and optimal delivery.

Requirements:

  • Dynamic professional with 2+ years of experience in buying or category management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial systems and commercial acumen.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering business value and driving results.
