Job Role: Warehouse Supervisor

Key Aspects of the Job

The Warehouse Supervisor has a pivotal role in managing and overseeing warehouse operations within the distribution centre. Their primary duty is to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of inventory and timely order fulfillment.

This position demands strong leadership and people management skills, along with a hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role, preferably in a high-volume distribution environment.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to achieve productivity and accuracy targets.
  • Operational Efficiency: Plan and manage daily workflows across receiving, picking, packing, dispatching, and inventory control.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and cleanliness standards; ensure all team members adhere to SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs such as order accuracy, lines per man-day, pick rates, and on-time dispatch; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Training & Development: Provide on-the-job training, ensure staff competency, and support career progression within the team.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Monitor stock levels, investigate discrepancies, and support periodic stock takes and cycle counts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with managers, transport teams, and customer service to ensure smooth coordination across functions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
