About the Role- Lead the design and specification of electrical engineering solutions for buildings, ensuring compliance with all current regulations and standards.
- Collaborate directly with clients and project teams to define requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
- Oversee pre-construction activities, including design development, service coordination, technical submittals, and sub-contract management.
- Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
- Offer off-site technical support to construction teams as needed.
- Mentor and support junior staff, helping them grow and develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main Accountabilities: As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a leading role in designing innovative electrical systems for a wide range of building projects.
- Techincal Support: You'll work closely with clients, project engineers, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring every solution meets the highest technical standards and delivers real value.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior staff, helping them grow and develop their skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in all aspects of electrical engineering services and design.
- Educational Background: Third level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- Work Experience: At least 7 years' relevant experience, ideally within a design consultancy environment.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of current design guides, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards.
- Software Skills: Experience with Electrical Design Software such as Dialux and Amtech or equivalent.
- Client Management: Proven experience working with clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills.
