IT Infrastructure Transformation Specialist

Transform the IT infrastructure of a leading Irish organisation and play a key role in shaping its future technology landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to join at the beginning of a significant journey, helping to define how IT is run with real influence over systems, services, and vendors.

The focus is on vendor management and governance. You will work closely with multiple Managed Service Providers, overseeing service delivery, budgets, and technical oversight of the organisation's core IT infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the infrastructure meets the required standards of security, availability, and compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.

This role requires someone who enjoys combining strategic vendor oversight with hands-on technical involvement, supporting critical projects that lay the foundation for the company's future IT environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing external IT service providers or vendors and knowledge of datacentre operations, virtualisation, and storage technologies.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing relationships with multiple service providers, including SLAs, service reviews, and performance management
  • Overseeing core infrastructure components, such as Microsoft Active Directory, servers, storage, and operating systems
  • Ensuring infrastructure security, availability, and compliance with relevant frameworks
  • SUPPORTING disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Collaborating with stakeholders on infrastructure initiatives and transformation projects
  • Contributing to the development of IT infrastructure strategy

About the Person

We are looking for someone with:

  • 8-10 years' experience in IT infrastructure, preferably in Microsoft environments
  • Strong experience managing external IT service providers or vendors
  • Knowledge of datacentre operations, virtualisation (e.g., VMware), and storage technologies
  • Familiarity with IT security standards and best practices
  • Cloud and networking knowledge
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
