Job Description

The Process Development Engineer will support the development of manufacturing processes for a medical device company. This role involves close collaboration with counterparts responsible for device development and characterization.

Key responsibilities include developing manufacturing processes, materials, and methods, designing process fixtures and equipment, and developing Work Instructions and supporting documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in product and process development, fixture design, process validation, and Work Instruction development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops manufacturing processes, materials, and methods using in-house and external development paths
  • Designs, specifies, procures, and qualifies process fixtures and equipment
  • Develops Work Instructions and supporting documentation for manufacturing processes
  • Executes process characterisation and validation activities
  • Collaborates with internal teams and contract manufacturers or design firms to ensure system design meets requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of medical device development experience and a primary or Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (polymer, mechanical, manufacturing, or biomedical engineering)
  • Experience in fabrication and manufacture of catheter-based medical devices; large calibre delivery systems are an advantage
