Operations Director Position

This is a full-time opportunity working an average of 45 hours per week, 5 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

Main Responsibilities:
  • The Operations Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of this busy hotel property and its team of staff.
  • The Operations Director will assume overall responsibility for the property and its operations.
  • Collaboration with the finance department on annual budget planning and target proposals for the hotel.
  • Working closely with the Hotel Director on strategy planning for the hotel.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures with the hotel Management Team.
  • Cooperation with managers and heads of departments in all aspects of the property's agenda.
  • Management of a team of up to 35-40 people on busy shifts.
  • A hands-on approach to the role.
  • Driving sales initiatives within the property in conjunction with the hotel's sales team and the group's Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Coordination of the Health & Safety agenda in the property.
  • Working with the senior team in setting and driving team objectives through agenda meetings and training and development.
  • Management/facilitation of bi-weekly sales, HOD and Food & Beverage Meetings as well as daily planning meetings.
  • Collaboration with the management team in relation to the property's HACCP plan.
  • Providing excellent service to all guests/visitors to the property.
Requirements:
  • Must have 2 years' experience as an Operations Director within a busy hotel property.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of all hotel departments with a particular emphasis on food & beverage, sales & events and industry innovations.
  • Experience in training and developing staff and heads of departments.
  • A proven track record in achieving results/targets.
  • Overseeing the hotel's HACCP system.
  • Previous experience working with hotel front office systems is essential.
  • An excellent understanding of hotel financials.
  • Strong people management skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
