Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a seasoned legal executive to lead our reinsurance operations and provide strategic legal guidance across the business.

This senior leadership role is responsible for managing legal risk, supporting strategic initiatives, and advising the executive team on legal matters. The successful candidate will interface with regulators, clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to drive revenue growth and operational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading complex teams, driving sustainable change, and promoting a culture of compliance and ethics.

  • Lead the legal function to support business strategy and operations.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team.
  • Manage legal risk and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align with Lifeco's compliance strategy and risk appetite.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualified solicitor or barrister with minimum 15 years PQE in financial services, ideally international experience in reinsurance.

Strong knowledge of financial services regulation, analytical skills, and ability to communicate complex information effectively.

Experience in M&A, structured financing, and asset transactions, as well as strong networking and influencing skills.

High emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and tenacity to push through challenges.
