Global Risk Prevention Leader

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving impact across all markets and regions by managing a multi-disciplinary team of program managers focused on protecting market safety, planning and managing high-risk events, and serving as the key point of contact for internal teams and company leaders to provide a consolidated and comprehensive response to global and regional risks.

The Global Head of Risk Prevention will use strategic, organizational, and interpersonal skills to prioritize and manage multiple programs in a manner that is efficient and aligned with the organizational strategy. They will also help maintain clear, persuasive, and timely communications across global offices and functional teams including Policy, Product, Data, Operations, Risk Response, Public Policy, Communications, and Legal.

This role requires the ability to negotiate outcomes, influence decision-making, and build lasting relationships. The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a high tempo environment and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

1. Lead the Global Risk Prevention team comprising regional market program managers.
2. Drive plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of TikTok communities worldwide. Identify and prevent risks, and project-manage mitigation of high-risk events across multiple geographies.
3. Serve as the point of contact for cross-functional team members, handling issues and inquiries, and developing action plans to address them. Consult with and educate cross-functional partners on Trust & Safety principles and global regulations.
4. Engage with senior Trust & Safety and cross-functional leaders in decision-making, program management, and project implementation by delivering clear recommendations and influencing consensus across multiple time zones and cultures.
5. Improve current Trust & Safety processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity in alignment with the global strategic roadmap.
6. Anticipate and manage organizational resource needs.
7. Create company-wide presentations, Trust & Safety org updates, and other important metrics reports tailored for diverse audiences and decision-making bodies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experienced leader in business transformation and transversal project coordination with significant people management experience within the global technology or internet industry.
• Clear knowledge across Online Regulation, specific to content and safety at both global and regional levels.
• Significant experience in complex program management, strategic planning, business process improvement, performance management, and/or change management within multi-market environments.
• In-depth experience in direct team management as well as organizing and directing decision-making across multiple teams and departments while influencing senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven track record of strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level.
• Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Adept at handling sensitive information and situations with care and confidence. Proficient in leading from behind the scenes and communicating diplomatically with a variety of personality types.
• Highly entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to react well under pressure and ambiguity. Proactively anticipates and responds to opportunities and problems before others notice them. Capable of thriving in a high tempo environment.
• Proven ability to rapidly identify problems, thoroughly analyze them, then develop and deliver pragmatic solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience directly in Trust & Safety or a comparable technical field or complex global organization.
• Resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.
• Ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, and respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
