Business Continuity Expert

As a seasoned business continuity expert, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience of our organisation's critical IT services. This entails developing and implementing robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to test and refine disaster recovery frameworks, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers. You will maintain accurate records of business impact assessments, risk impact assessments, and business continuity plans, while also providing essential training and awareness sessions for staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Collaborate with various departments and third-party vendors to ensure seamless execution of disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on business impact assessments, risk impact assessments, and business continuity plans.
  • Design and execute regular disaster recovery testing exercises, including data centre failover and cloud platform recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations through meticulous planning and coordination.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to enhance staff understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  • Support incident response efforts by ensuring timely restoration of business services.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies to provide recommendations for enhancing organisational resilience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business continuity roles (2+ years).
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in IT or related functions.
  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise-level disaster recovery testing.
  • Strong grasp of cloud technologies and their applications.
  • Sound knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective team work.
  • Experience working with external vendors and managed service providers.
