Genetic Counsellor Role

We are seeking a skilled Genetic Counsellor to join our team and contribute to the provision of high-quality genetic services.

About the Role

The purpose of this post is to provide improved access to clinical genetics and genomics in line with the implementation of the National Strategy for Accelerating Genetic and Genomic Medicine in Ireland. This role will work towards delivering a comprehensive, high-quality genetic counselling service by performing duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

Key Responsibilities
  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of a Genetic Counsellor, providing expertise and support to patients and families affected by genetic conditions.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of genetic services across the regions, ensuring alignment with national strategy objectives.
Requirements
  • Applicants should possess a strong understanding of genetics, genomics, and associated medical practices.
  • A relevant degree or certification in a field related to genetics or a healthcare profession would be advantageous.
