Ecologist Leadership Opportunity

This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to take on a leadership role in project delivery and client engagement within a multidisciplinary consultancy specializing in infrastructure, energy, and environmental services.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4/5 years post-graduate experience in ecological consultancy and be ready to lead the preparation of high-quality consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage ecology contracts and ensure the delivery of high-quality consultancy services.
  • Provide ecological input into various projects including wind farms, road schemes, and commercial developments.
  • Conduct and oversee ecological fieldwork and species/habitat surveys.
  • Prepare and review Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
  • Lead the preparation of Appropriate Assessments (AA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Biodiversity chapters for EIARs.
  • Write and review detailed technical reports.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
  • Engage with clients and multi-disciplinary teams on project planning and design.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Ecology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4/5 years' relevant post-graduate experience in consultancy.
  • Full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM, CIWEM, or a similar professional body.
  • Strong technical report writing and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
  • Full clean driving licence required for site travel.
