Job Title: Senior Technical Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight of our NGAVL solution, ensuring its ongoing development and enhancement meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of the NGAVL solution post-go live.
  • Ensure that the NGAVL supplier successfully integrates with the NGT system using ITxPT compliant protocols.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for the NGAVL solution for any issues and identify solutions.
  • Review technical designs and ensure they meet our technical requirements and specifications.
  • Propose and define a technical roadmap for enhancements aligning with our objectives.
  • Initiate change requests by securing internal buy-in for implementing changes and enhancements.
  • Lead test and validation processes post-enhancement implementations/upgrades.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of a NFQ level 7 qualification in software engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, or information technology.
  • At least 7 years' experience in configuration and testing of AVL systems, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Sufficient experience in AVL on-bus hardware diagnostics and ticketing systems in a transit environment.
  • Hands-on experience with data formats used for AVL (e.g., GTFS) and bus operations (e.g., VDV).
  • Experience with outsourced systems development and implementation projects as a client technical representative.
  • Experience in software test planning and testing of AVL systems.
