The Senior Software Development Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the software development department, spearheading the execution of complex software and electronics projects, and guiding a high-performing team responsible for their delivery.
This leadership position requires strategic vision, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of software development methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, preferably with experience in one or more of the following areas: embedded systems, mobile application development, cloud computing, DevOps, or software architecture.
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience leading software development teams is essential, as is a proven track record of delivering successful projects using agile/Scrum methodologies. Additionally, the ability to manage and prioritize development backlogs, interact with customers and end-users to understand their needs, and foster innovation within the team are critical skills for this role.
The Senior Software Development Director will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic guidance and oversight to the software development team.
- Ensuring the timely and budget-friendly delivery of software and electronics projects.
- Allocating resources effectively to optimize project outcomes.
- Mentoring and developing team members through training, coaching, and career planning.
- Overseeing quality assurance processes to guarantee high-quality software products.
- Facilitating communication and coordination among team members, stakeholders, and other departments.
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with software and electronics development projects.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, product managers, and senior management to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
- Software development background required, ideally with experience in one or more of embedded systems, mobile application development, cloud computing, DevOps, or software architecture.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience leading software development teams.
- Proven track record of delivering successful projects using agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to manage and prioritize development backlogs.
- Eagerness to interact with customers and end-users to understand their needs.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
