The role of Principal AI/ML Robotics Engineer requires a deep understanding of visual perception and SLAM technologies. This engineer will lead the development of real-world localization and mapping solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring scalable solutions from research to production.

A successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in robotics, computer vision, or AI, including 5+ years in SLAM, VO, or sensor fusion, and 3+ years in a technical leadership role. A Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in at least one of the following areas: VIO, multi-sensor fusion, 3D SLAM and mapping in dynamic environments, AI-based perception models for real-time localization, and proven track records of deploying perception algorithms in real-world systems.

This is a hands-on leadership role that involves defining technical roadmaps, mentoring other engineers, and driving algorithm development and evaluation for perception tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and deployment of SLAM, VIO, and multi-sensor fusion systems
  • Drive algorithm development and evaluation for perception tasks
  • Architect AI pipelines that combine classical and learned methods
  • Develop real-world and simulation-based datasets for benchmarking and validation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with embedded, hardware, and systems engineers

Bonus Experience:

  • Experience with self-supervised learning, foundation models for robotics, or transformer-based perception architectures
  • Familiarity with industrial domains: factory automation, AMRs, predictive maintenance, etc.
  • Prior contributions to open-source projects
