Role Summary:

Offshore FlexTech Manager

We are seeking an experienced Offshore FlexTech Manager to lead our team in the commercial development of key renewable and flexible technology projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the commercial development of offshore wind, storage, low carbon inertia solutions, hydrogen/e-fuels and other emerging technologies that address system needs or customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical understanding of electricity transmission grid planning, development, and operation, as well as experience managing large-scale projects and stakeholder relationships. They will also have a proven track record of delivering projects in complex environments and fostering partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the commercial development of offshore wind, storage, low carbon inertia solutions, hydrogen/e-fuels and other emerging technologies.
  • Monitor and control project development performance across all dimensions: time, cost, quality, scope, and risk.
  • Oversee participation in route to market auctions/tenders and ensure comprehensive bid preparation programs and governance requirements are met.
  • Manage contractual negotiations to ensure optimum outcomes for the business and timely completion and execution of contracts and agreements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to drive contractual workstreams to successful conclusion.
  • Monitor development and capital expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure alignment between project delivery schedules, resource needs, and procurement strategies.
  • Mentor and develop a team of project management and technology professionals.

Requirements:

  • Third-level degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale projects and taking project/process ownership.
  • Strong technical understanding of electricity transmission grid planning, development, and operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and deliver projects in complex environments.
  • Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
