Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor is a senior role that oversees the technical and maintenance activities across production facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of technical specialists to ensure timely completion of preventative maintenance tasks, calibrations, and equipment downtime resolution.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure equipment and maintenance performance, including mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), schedule attainment, labor utilization, work order backlog, and PM/calibration completion rates.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance information, including specifications, drawings, manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to facilitate easy access and retrieval by colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP Next procedures and follow established protocols for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to justify capital expenditures and optimize maintenance strategies to minimize equipment downtime and costs.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control maintenance project activities to achieve site objectives and provide technical support to the maintenance group.
  • Implement a scientific risk-based approach to identifying critical spares for plant and equipment, ensuring they are readily available when needed.
  • Promote an effective program for maintaining equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Manage purchase orders for equipment and spares within the job's scope and conduct other administrative tasks required to fulfill functional responsibilities.
  • Establish service-level agreements (SLAs) as necessary.
  • Resolve unplanned works efficiently and document resolutions, resource hours, and costs via SAP Work Order.
  • Collaborate with planners to set optimized PM and calibration frequencies.
  • Present technical data and lead tours for internal and external audit groups, customer visits, and on-site contractors under area of responsibility.
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance documentation for each equipment item, filing it in designated shared folders.
  • E nsure adherence to GMP and SOP requirements during diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and electronic plant and systems associated with producing finished products.
  • Lead shutdown activities, including planning, execution, and lessons learned.
  • Travel as necessary to support project FATs, development work, or training initiatives.
  • Report equipment and process performance using OEE tools to identify and address losses efficiently.
  • Set up equipment-associated spares, PMs, and calibrations in SAP.
  • Manage department discretionary spend and capital budgets on a monthly and quarterly basis, avoiding overspending.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives identified through ongoing assessment of equipment issues and reliability based on gathered data and statistical analysis.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in an Engineering/Maintenance Leadership role, preferably within the Life Science, Medical Device, and/or Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Engineering degree (minimum Level 7, Level 8 advantageous) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or recognized equivalent.
  • Experience or qualification in Reliability Engineering advantageous.
  • Trades-qualified advantageous.
  • High level of energy, positivity, and enthusiasm, along with the ability to motivate others.
  • Demonstrated high-performance history, proven ability to execute, and achieve results.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills; strong project management experience.
  • Able to influence within a matrix organization with direct and indirect authority.
  • Able to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with planning and executing change within a high-work-paced environment.
  • Keen ability to teach and coach.
  • Preferable experience with SAP Next/PM system.
  • Preferable experience with a Calibration System.
  • Previous experience within an ATEX environment advantageous.
  • Experience with Planned Preventative and Proactive Maintenance approaches.
  • Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety Skills.
  • Able to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Lead a high-performing technical group.
  • Keen to learn and take responsibility.
  • Analytical with experience in Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.
  • Familiar with GMP requirements within a regulated industry.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning ability.
  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Methodical work approach.
