About the Job

The Executive Fire Prevention Officer is responsible for ensuring adequate fire safety in buildings and other structures within the greater Dublin area. This role involves administration, enforcement of legislation, and provision of expert advice on fire safety matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment of Fire Safety Certificate applications;
  • Carrying out inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations;
  • Processing licensing applications under the Fire Services Act;
  • Advising and inspecting at major events;

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of fire safety legislation, building codes, and regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • A recognized degree in engineering or architecture, or a related field;
  • At least five years of satisfactory experience in fire-fighting techniques, fire resistance of buildings, hydraulics and water supplies, design and construction of buildings, technological or industrial processes, or a combination of these;
  • A high standard of technical training;
  • An awareness of Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations;

The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, and must possess excellent problem-solving skills, flexibility, and adaptability.
